The Big Wind Kite Factory handcrafts high-flying kites from nylon, using fiberglass spars and poly-tubing for the kites' structural foundation. The factory is located in the tiny town of Maunaloa, just a five-minute drive south from the Kailuakoi Golf Course. Visitors to the factory can enjoy a free tour of the grounds, which includes tips on the island's best kite-flying spots, as well as free kite-flying tutorials.
